Research lines

MobileNet Lab is an international leading research group in future generation networks actively participating in international projects and contracts with industry with a long record on artificial intelligence applied to wireless networks. The available rich infrastructure is exploited for research and knowledge transfer on areas such as:

  • 6G and 5G use cases (Industry 4.0, smart cities, public protection & disaster relief (PPDR), airports, construction, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control, etc.).
  • Monitoring, tracing and management of 4G, 5G and multitechnology IoT emulated and live networks as well as prospection of future technologies.
  • Localization techniques based on cellular infrastructure (4G/5G) and other wireless technologies (WiFi/UWB).
  • Analytics of performance metrics of cellular networks with machine learning as well as predictive analytics and quality of experience management for eMBB/URLLC services including cloud gaming and virtual/augmented/extended reality.
  • Planning, deployment and optimisation of virtualised indoor and outdoor cellular networks, portable radio access and satellite and avionics communications.
  • Use of social and context data for network management and location-based services.
